History of Wichita

This is one of the classes I am taking this semester. It is an interesting class, but I struggle with the presentation. I need things to be very linear, and it isn't exactly that.

I feverishly take notes often missing the importance until later.

Now is later.

As I am typing my notes in preparation for Friday's test, this one line of information stopped me cold.

Before Wichita became a city, it had been inhabited for 11,000 years by Native-Americans.

Read it again.

11,000 years.

These people were doing their thing for more than 200 generations. Thousands upon thousands of grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren living and dying on this land.

Then some new people decided that the land looked good for something else, railroads.

Astonishingly sad.

Sing it Dave.
