Today begins the second week of my internship and Shocker Fitness.
The first week was exhausting and exhilarating.
The newness of exercise has worn off, and there isn't really much to talk about anymore. Yes, it's early. Yes, I'm sore. I'm pretty sure I will stick with it.
My time at The Eagle has been MUCH more interesting than I thought it would be.
I went into this thinking I was doing it for experience only. I would get some clips, meet some people and have something else to put on my resume. I really didn't expect to enjoy it all that much. Because, after all, I can't BE a reporter.
Wow. I was wrong.
I love, love, love it.
I love getting handed an assignment at the beginning of the day that needs to be finished by the end. I love going into the field and talking to people. I love finding new stories out of current stories and following up on those. I even love sitting at the desk all day making phone calls. I love it when my phone rings and someone is on the other end ready to talk to me.
I can so be a reporter.
Will anyone be hiring reporters a year from now? Who knows. But I'm not going to worry about that today. I'm just going to enjoy my last days in the newsroom. I am so happy I got this experience.

Every time I see your by-line in the paper, I do a happy little dance for you (doubly happy because your articles never have those pesky spelling and grammar errors! lol)! Keep up the good interning!
