What a strange and delightful day

This morning I went to visit KFH's Sports Daily radio show. I was invited by a woman I work with because I am one of the recipients of the Sports Daily Scholarship in Print or Broadcast Journalism. I thought it would be neat to visit the show and see it in action. I didn't realize I would actually be ON the show. Crazy! It was a short bit, but it was still a hoot. Bob Lutz and Bruce Haertl were so friendly and accommodating.

If you are interested in hearing my five minutes of fame, you can find the podcast here. Our segment starts at about 1:05:00.

For lunch, I went to Da' Cajun Shak (I checked the spelling. That is really correct.) with two of my favorite co-workers. We were served water in mason jars with straws. What's not fun about that? I had never been there and really enjoyed it. I had a catfish po' boy sandwich and fries. The sandwich was huge! And still, I was able to finish it. It was such a nice time. I started at the foundation about a year ago and now I feel like these two women are my friends. I don't connect with everyone I meet. That's just the way it is. But when I do, it is so much fun.

And finally, Jet is officially off of house arrest! He even got to cut the strap off his ankle himself. I am happy for him AND for us. He was stuck at our house for two solid months and was only allowed to leave for school. All in all, he did handle it really well. It would be tough for anyone to serve that kind of sentence, much less a social 16-year-old boy. I just hope he makes better decisions in the future. I think he has a good shot. His core is good. He just likes to keep it covered with a rough exterior. He'll get it figured out.

I wish every week was spring break week.
