On Sunday, I ran in my first organized "race" since Sept. 2009.
It was a four-mile ordeal on a pretty windy and chilly day.
Since I don't ever time my runs, I wasn't really sure how long it would take me to go four miles. A few minutes before it started, I did a little math and thought maybe I would do it in about 48 minutes.
Turns out, it only took me 43 minutes and 42 seconds.
I was actually pretty pleased with that.
I wasn't last and I never stopped to walk. Boom.
But when I went to look for my results online, I had to scroll ALL the way to the last page to find my name.
I came in 162 out of 184.
The winner finished in half my time. HALF.
When I sent my race results to Kevin this morning, he said:
"So you didn’t beat the guy who juggles and runs at the same time. Big woop. I bet he couldn’t edit this e-mail AP style in less than 44 minutes."
I love that he knew the AP Style reference would make everything better.
It so did.
