On being funny

If my kids grow up to be funny, that will be one of my proudest accomplishments.

Seriously.

A look into part of a conversation I had with Charley and Allie on Friday:

Me: So I watched this documentary about credit card debt.

Charley: Yeah?

Me: And in it there were two mothers who told the story of how their college kids hanged themselves because they were too far into credit card debt.

Charley: Wow. That's too bad.

Me: Exactly. So no credit card debt for you guys.

Charley: How about no hanging for us?

Me: Ha! Good point. No hanging for you.

(I hope that reads funny because it was hysterical in person.)
